Possible Causes

Open bake heating element, Burnt wire at bake element terminal, Failed bake relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before touching any wiring or elements.

  • Visual inspection: Look at the bake element inside the oven for blisters, cracks, or burn-through spots. Any visible damage means it must be replaced.
  • Continuity test: Remove the rear panel to access the bake element terminals. Disconnect the wires and measure resistance across the element; an open reading indicates a failed element.
  • Check wiring: Inspect wires and terminals for burns or loose connections. Repair or replace damaged wiring with high-temperature rated wire.
  • Control board: If the element and wiring are good, the bake relay on the EOC may not be closing. Test for voltage at the element terminals during a bake call (only if you are trained to work on live circuits). Replace the EOC if it does not supply proper voltage.

Note: Always reinstall the rear panel before normal operation to maintain proper cooling and safety.
