Possible Causes

Shorted touchpad membrane on control panel, Failed electronic oven control board, Moisture or grease contamination on keypad ribbon connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the range before removing any panels. High voltage is present even when the oven is off.

  • Power reset: Turn off the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power. If F1 returns immediately, the fault is likely in the keypad or control board.
  • Inspect control panel: Remove the front control panel bezel (usually from the back or underside). Check the keypad ribbon cable going into the electronic oven control (EOC) for corrosion, grease, or moisture. Gently clean the connector with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry fully.
  • Keypad test: With power off, disconnect the keypad ribbon from the EOC. Restore power briefly. If F1 disappears with the keypad unplugged, the keypad/touch membrane is defective and must be replaced.
  • Control board test: If F1 persists even with the keypad disconnected, the EOC itself is faulty and should be replaced.
  • Reassembly: After replacing the faulty part, reassemble the control panel, secure all screws, and restore power. Test all oven functions.

Warning: If you are not comfortable working around live circuits or removing the control panel, contact a qualified appliance technician.
