How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off gas and power before removing burner components.

Clean burner: Remove the oven bottom panel and flame spreader to access the main burner. Use a soft brush and compressed air to clean burner ports. Do not enlarge the holes.
Inspect flame: Reassemble, restore gas and power, and observe the flame. It should be blue and even along the burner. Yellow tips or lifting flames indicate air/gas issues.
Check igniter: If the flame lights but drops out quickly, the igniter may not be maintaining proper current. Replace the igniter if it is slow to glow or appears damaged.
Gas pressure: If issues persist, have a qualified technician verify manifold pressure and orifice sizing per American Range specifications.

Warning: Do not attempt to adjust gas regulators or orifices without proper training and tools.

Gas oven lights but then goes out after a few seconds or cycles on and off too frequently, causing uneven baking.
