Possible Causes
Insufficient cooling airflow around control, Failed control cooling fan, Missing or misinstalled heat shield
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool before removing panels.
- Ventilation: Ensure installation clearances meet American Range specifications and that no cabinets or trim block control vents.
- Cooling fan: On models with a control cooling fan, verify the fan runs during high-heat operation. Replace the fan motor if it does not run.
- Heat shields: Check that all factory heat shields and insulation pieces are in place around the control area.
- Control board: Repeated overheating can damage the EOC; replace if resets continue after cooling issues are corrected.
Note: Avoid storing items on top of the range that could block vents.
