Possible Causes
Shorted light relay on control board, Door switch stuck in closed position, Shorted light switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before testing switches or relays.
- Door switch test: Locate the door switch and test for continuity. It should be closed (continuity) when the door is open and open (no continuity) when closed. Replace if it stays closed.
- Light switch: If equipped with a manual light switch, test it for proper operation and replace if shorted.
- Control relay: If switches are good, the light relay on the EOC may be welded closed. Replace the EOC.
Note: Leaving the light on continuously can overheat the lens and shorten bulb life.
