Possible Causes
Burned-out oven light bulb, Failed oven light switch or door switch, Faulty light socket or wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before replacing bulbs or sockets.
- Replace bulb: Remove the glass light cover inside the oven (usually twists off). Replace the bulb with the correct high-temperature oven bulb rating specified by American Range.
- Test door switch: If the light still does not work, test the door switch for continuity when pressed and released. Replace if defective.
- Inspect socket: Check the light socket for corrosion or heat damage. Replace the socket if contacts are burnt or loose.
- Control issue: If the bulb, switch, and socket are good, the control board light relay or wiring may be faulty and require professional diagnosis.
Note: Do not use standard household bulbs; they cannot withstand oven temperatures.
