Display shows E04 and oven stops heating; often occurs after long cooking or self-clean cycle. Cooling fan may run but oven remains cold.

Safety first: Switch off power and allow the oven to cool completely (at least 30–60 minutes) before inspection.

• Check ventilation: Ensure the oven has correct clearances as per Amica installation instructions. Remove any obstructions from vents at the front, rear, or top of the cabinet.
• Inspect cooling fan: Remove the top cover of the oven. Locate the tangential cooling fan. Spin the fan blades by hand; they should move freely. If seized or noisy, replace the cooling fan motor. Check that the fan runs when the oven is heating (requires live test by a competent person).
• Reset or replace thermal cut-out: Find the thermal cut-out (safety thermostat) on the top or rear of the oven casing. Some models have a small reset button in the center—press it firmly to reset. If it has no reset or it will not reset, test continuity with a multimeter. Replace if open-circuit.
• Check cavity sensor: If the safety device repeatedly trips, test the cavity temperature sensor (NTC) for correct resistance. Replace if out of specification.
• Reassemble and test: After correcting airflow and replacing any faulty parts, reassemble the oven, restore power, and test at 180–200°C. Monitor that the cooling fan runs and that E04 does not reappear.
