Possible Causes
Defective temperature potentiometer, Worn keypad membrane, Broken ribbon cable to control panel, Faulty user interface PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains before accessing the control fascia.
- Check temperature knob (if fitted): Remove the knob and inspect the potentiometer shaft. If it wobbles or feels rough, the potentiometer may be worn. Replace the temperature control potentiometer module.
- Inspect keypad and ribbon cable: For touch-control Amica ovens, remove the front glass panel to access the keypad PCB and ribbon cable. Look for cracks, corrosion, or burnt spots on the flexible cable. Reseat or replace the cable if damaged.
- Clean contacts: Use contact cleaner on plug-in connectors between the user interface board and main PCB.
- UI board replacement: If individual components appear fine but E08 remains and inputs are erratic, replace the user interface PCB as a complete assembly.
- Re-test: After reassembly, restore power and verify that temperature settings can be adjusted and stored without error.
