Possible Causes
Open-circuit grill element, Burnt wiring to grill, Faulty grill relay on PCB, Overheated terminal connections at grill element
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains before accessing the grill area.
- Visual inspection: Look at the grill element inside the top of the cavity for sagging, blisters, or burn marks. Any visible damage usually means the element has failed.
- Test the grill element: Access the element terminals from the rear or top of the oven. Disconnect one wire and measure resistance; typical values are 15–40 Ω. Replace the element if open circuit.
- Check wiring: Inspect the wires and connectors leading to the grill element for heat damage. Replace any burnt spade connectors and use high-temperature cable.
- Relay and PCB: If the element and wiring are good, the grill relay on the main PCB may not be switching. Check for relay click when grill is selected (live test by a qualified person). Replace the PCB if the relay is faulty.
- Test grill: After repairs, run the grill for a few minutes and monitor for correct operation and absence of E13.
