Possible Causes
Food or grease buildup on elements, Spillage on oven floor or liner, Insulation or wiring overheating, Incorrect use of cleaning chemicals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If heavy smoke appears, switch off the oven and ventilate the room. Do not leave the oven unattended.
- Inspect interior: Once cool, remove shelves and trays. Check for burnt-on food or grease on elements, walls, and floor. Clean with a suitable oven cleaner (non-caustic for catalytic liners).
- Check elements and wiring: Remove rear and top covers to inspect for signs of insulation or wiring overheating. Repair or replace any burnt components.
- Burn-off cycle: After thorough cleaning, run the oven empty at 200–220°C for 30–45 minutes with good ventilation to burn off remaining residues.
- Avoid harsh chemicals: Do not spray cleaners directly onto elements or sensors. Follow Amica's cleaning recommendations.
