Possible Causes
Aged or drifting NTC temperature sensor, Poor contact between sensor and cavity, Faulty control board temperature regulation, Incorrect installation affecting airflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the sensor or control board.
- Verify with an oven thermometer: Place a reliable oven thermometer in the center of the cavity and compare actual temperature to the set value over 20–30 minutes.
- Inspect and test sensor: Remove the NTC sensor and check resistance at room temperature and at a known elevated temperature (e.g., 100°C in boiling water, if removable). Replace if readings are inconsistent or out of spec.
- Check sensor mounting: Ensure the sensor tip is correctly positioned in the cavity and not pushed back into insulation, which can cause false readings.
- Control calibration: Some Amica models allow temperature offset adjustment in the settings menu. Apply a small offset (+/−10–20°C) if available and re-test.
- Board replacement: If calibration and sensor replacement do not resolve the issue, the main control board's regulation circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
