Safety first: Isolate from mains before removing the control panel.

• Check selector operation: Rotate the function knob through all positions. If it feels loose, skips positions, or does not click, the selector is likely worn and should be replaced.
• Inspect contacts and wiring: Access the selector switch and look for burnt or oxidized contacts and loose spade connectors. Clean contacts with electrical cleaner and tighten or replace connectors.
• Test continuity: Using the wiring diagram (if available), test continuity between selector terminals in each mode. Replace the selector if contacts do not close as specified.
• Electronic encoder: On models with electronic mode selection, inspect the encoder and its connection to the PCB. Replace the encoder or UI board if faulty.
