Possible Causes
Failed grill element, Loose or burnt grill element connectors, Faulty grill relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely.
- Access grill element: Remove the oven door and internal top panel or shield if fitted. The grill element is usually visible at the top of the cavity, secured with screws or brackets.
- Check for visible damage: Look for blisters, cracks, or burn marks on the grill element sheath. Any visible damage usually means the element is faulty.
- Test continuity: From the rear of the oven, access the grill element terminals. Disconnect the wires and measure resistance; typical values are 15–40 Ω. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element.
- Inspect connectors: Ensure the spade terminals are tight and not oxidized. Replace any overheated connectors and crimp new high-temperature terminals if needed.
- Replace grill element: Unscrew the mounting screws inside the cavity, support the element as you remove it, and feed the terminals through. Fit the new Ariston grill element, ensuring correct alignment and secure mounting.
- Control board check: If the element and wiring are good, the grill relay on the PCB may be defective. Replace the main control board if no voltage is supplied to the grill when the function is selected.
