Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Faulty cooling fan relay on PCB, Broken or burnt wiring to cooling fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool fully before working near the fan.
- Locate cooling fan: On Ariston built-in ovens, the tangential cooling fan is usually mounted above the oven cavity behind the top cover.
- Inspect for obstruction: Remove the top cover and check that no insulation, wiring, or debris is blocking the fan wheel. Clear any obstructions.
- Spin test: Manually rotate the fan wheel. It should spin freely without grinding. If stiff or seized, the fan motor must be replaced.
- Electrical test: Disconnect the fan and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Also check for correct supply voltage at the fan connector when the oven is heating (only if you are trained to work on live circuits).
- Replace cooling fan: Remove mounting screws, disconnect wiring, and install a new genuine Ariston tangential cooling fan. Ensure wiring is routed away from moving parts.
- Check PCB relay: If the fan motor is good but never receives power, the cooling fan relay on the control board may be faulty. Replace the PCB if necessary.
