Possible Causes

Faulty ignition electrode, Blocked burner ports, No gas supply or closed gas valve, Faulty flame sensor or ionization circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off gas supply and disconnect power before working on a gas oven. If you smell gas, ventilate the area and do not operate electrical switches.

  • Check gas supply: Ensure the gas isolation valve is open and that other gas appliances work correctly.
  • Clean burner: Remove the oven burner and clean the ports with a soft brush to remove grease and debris. Ensure all holes are clear.
  • Inspect ignition electrode: Check that the electrode is not cracked and that the ceramic insulator is intact. The tip should be positioned correctly near the burner.
  • Check wiring: Verify that the ignition lead is firmly connected to the electrode and ignition module.
  • Test ignition: Reassemble, restore gas and power, and attempt ignition. If there is no spark, the ignition module or electrode may be faulty and should be replaced with genuine Ariston parts.
  • Flame sensing: If the burner lights but goes out after a few seconds, the flame sensor or ionization circuit may be defective. This requires specialist gas service.

Warning: Gas repairs should be carried out only by a licensed gas technician familiar with Ariston appliances.
