Possible Causes
Shorted temperature sensor, Stuck-closed mechanical thermostat (older models), Faulty control board temperature regulation, Sensor not in correct position
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power if the oven overheats uncontrollably.
- Check with thermometer: Use an oven thermometer to confirm that the actual temperature is higher than the set temperature.
- Inspect sensor: Verify that the cavity sensor is firmly mounted and not pushed into insulation. Replace the sensor if resistance is out of specification.
- Mechanical thermostat (if fitted): On older Ariston ovens with a rotary thermostat, test continuity; it should open when the oven reaches set temperature. Replace if it remains closed.
- Control board: If sensor and thermostat are good, the control board may be misregulating. Replace the main PCB.
