Oven will not heat, display shows F1 shortly after a cooking program is started.

Safety first: Disconnect the oven from power at the breaker before removing any panels. Allow the oven to cool completely.

• Access the temperature sensor: Open the oven door and locate the temperature sensor probe at the rear wall (usually upper left or center). Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward.
• Inspect wiring and connector: Check the sensor leads and plug for heat damage, burns, or broken insulation. Reseat the connector firmly. If the connector is loose or corroded, clean with electrical contact cleaner and reconnect.
• Check resistance (if you have a meter): With the sensor unplugged, measure resistance across the two sensor pins. A typical Asko NTC sensor is around 1–1.1 kΩ at room temperature (check service data for your exact model). If the reading is open, shorted, or far out of range, replace the sensor.
• Inspect harness to control: If the sensor tests good, trace the harness back to the main control board behind the control panel. Look for pinched, cut, or burned wires. Repair or replace the harness if damaged.
• Reset and test: Restore power, clear the error by switching the breaker off for 2–3 minutes, then start a bake cycle. If F1 returns with a known-good sensor and harness, the main control board is likely faulty and should be replaced.
