Possible Causes

Open bake or grill element, Loose element terminal connection, Burned wiring at element spade, Failed relay or triac on main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing elements or wiring.

  • Test elements: Remove the rear panel or access cover to reach the bake and grill elements. Disconnect one wire from the suspect element and measure resistance across the element terminals. An infinite reading indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
  • Inspect terminals: Check for burned or loose spade connectors at the element. Replace any overheated connectors and trim back damaged wire, crimping on new high-temperature terminals.
  • Check wiring to control: Follow the element wiring back to the main control board. Look for signs of overheating or breaks. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
  • Control board output: If the element and wiring are good, the relay or triac on the control board may not be energizing. With power restored and extreme caution, a technician can test for voltage at the element terminals during a call for heat. If no voltage is present, replace the main control board.
