Possible Causes
Faulty high-limit thermostat on cavity, Open safety thermostat on top panel, Defective pyrolytic temperature sensor (if separate), Wiring fault in safety chain
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Surfaces may be extremely hot after a failed self-clean; allow full cooling before service.
- Locate safety thermostats: Asko pyrolytic ovens typically have one or more manual-reset thermostats on the top of the cavity or rear panel. Access by removing the top or rear cover.
- Check for tripped thermostat: Some thermostats have a small reset button. Press gently to reset if tripped. If it immediately trips again during use, investigate cooling airflow and fan operation.
- Test continuity: With wires disconnected, measure continuity across each thermostat. Replace any that are open and non-resettable.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the safety chain wiring from the thermostats to the main control board and door lock. Repair any burned or broken wires.
- Sensor check: If a separate pyrolytic sensor is used, test its resistance and replace if out of specification.
