Possible Causes
Open or shorted grill element, Poor contact at grill element terminals, Faulty grill temperature monitoring on control board, Damaged wiring near top of cavity from heat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool.
- Inspect grill element: Open the door and visually inspect the top grill element for blisters, breaks, or sagging. Replace if physically damaged.
- Test resistance: Access the element terminals from the rear or top. Disconnect one wire and measure resistance across the element. Replace if open or shorted.
- Check wiring: Inspect the wiring from the grill element to the control board, especially where it passes near hot surfaces. Repair any brittle or burned insulation and replace terminals as needed.
- Control board check: If the element and wiring are good, the grill control circuit on the main board may be faulty. Replace the main control board if F15 persists.
