Possible Causes

Stuck touch key on glass control, Damaged touch membrane, Loose ribbon cable between user interface and main control, Failed user interface board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing the control panel.

  • Check for stuck keys: With the oven powered, gently press each touch key individually to see if any feel stuck or unresponsive. Power off again before disassembly.
  • Remove control panel: Open the oven door and remove the screws securing the control panel. Carefully pull the panel forward to access the ribbon cable and user interface board.
  • Inspect and reseat ribbon cable: Disconnect the flat ribbon cable between the touch panel and the main control board. Inspect for corrosion or damage, then reconnect firmly, ensuring it is fully seated.
  • Clean around touch area: If spills or cleaning fluids have entered the touch area, gently clean and dry the backside of the glass and the contact points. Do not scratch conductive traces.
  • Test operation: Reassemble, restore power, and test the keys. If F5 persists and certain keys do not respond, replace the user interface (touch) board or complete control panel assembly as specified for your Asko model.
