Possible Causes

Failed cooling fan motor, Blocked or jammed fan blades, Open fan wiring harness, Faulty fan relay on main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool fully.

  • Access cooling fan: Remove the top panel or rear cover (depending on model) to reach the tangential cooling fan located above or behind the oven cavity.
  • Inspect fan blades: Check for insulation, wiring, or debris obstructing the fan. Clear any obstructions and ensure the fan spins freely by hand.
  • Test fan motor: Disconnect the fan connector and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor that must be replaced.
  • Check wiring and relay: Inspect the harness from the control board to the fan for damage. If wiring is good and the motor tests good, the fan relay or driver on the main control board may be defective, requiring board replacement.
  • Reassemble and test: After replacing the fan or board, restore power and start a bake cycle. Confirm that the cooling fan starts running after a few minutes and that the F8 code does not reappear.
