Possible Causes
Element shorted to chassis, Damaged wiring insulation touching metal, Moisture in terminal block or wiring, Faulty filter or suppression capacitor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Leave the breaker off until the fault is identified. Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker.
- Inspect elements: Remove rear or side panels to visually inspect bake and grill elements where they pass through the cavity wall. Look for burn marks or contact with metal. Replace any element that shows signs of arcing or damage.
- Check wiring harness: Follow the wiring from the elements and control board, looking for melted insulation or pinched wires. Repair or replace damaged sections.
- Dry moisture: If the oven was recently cleaned with excessive water or steam, allow it to dry thoroughly for 24 hours with the door open. Moisture in connectors can cause ground faults.
- Filter board: Inspect the power filter / EMI suppression board for cracked capacitors or burn marks. Replace if defective.
