Possible Causes

Failed touchpad membrane, Loose keypad ribbon cable, Defective electronic oven control (EOC), Liquid spill into control panel

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before opening the control panel.

  • Inspect for spills: Check around the control panel for signs of liquid spills or steam damage. If present, allow the panel to dry completely (several hours) before retesting.
  • Access control panel: Remove screws securing the control panel and gently pull it forward to expose the keypad ribbon and EOC.
  • Reseat ribbon cable: Disconnect the flat keypad ribbon from the EOC, inspect for corrosion or damage, clean with isopropyl alcohol, and reconnect firmly.
  • Test keypad: Restore power and test each button. If some keys do not respond or F5 reappears, the keypad membrane is likely faulty.
  • Replace components: Replace the touchpad/control panel assembly first. If the error persists with a new keypad, replace the electronic oven control (EOC).
