Possible Causes
Shorted keypad button, Damaged touch membrane from heat or cleaning chemicals, Contaminated keypad contacts, Faulty control board key scan circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before working on the control panel.
- Check for stuck keys: With power off, press each button several times to feel for any that are physically stuck or have a different feel.
- Clean keypad surface: Wipe the keypad with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the panel.
- Inspect internal keypad: Remove the control panel and inspect the keypad membrane for warping, bubbling, or burn marks from heat.
- Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the keypad ribbon cable to the EOC to ensure a solid connection.
- Replace keypad: If F7 returns or certain keys remain unresponsive, replace the touchpad/control panel assembly. If a new keypad does not resolve the issue, replace the electronic oven control (EOC).
