Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor assembly, Broken or jammed door latch, Faulty door lock switch, Wiring issue between lock assembly and EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Do not force the door open with tools; you can damage the frame or glass.
- Allow cooling: If the error occurred during or after self‑clean, allow the oven to cool completely; the lock will not release while the cavity is hot.
- Access lock assembly: Remove the top panel or rear panel (depending on Avanti model) to access the door lock motor and latch mechanism.
- Inspect mechanism: Check for bent linkage, broken plastic parts, or obstructions preventing the latch from moving.
- Test lock motor and switch: With power disconnected, test continuity of the lock motor and door lock switch using a multimeter. Replace if open or mechanically failed.
- Manual release: Many Avanti models have a manual release lever near the lock assembly. Gently move the lever to unlock the door.
- Replace assembly: If the motor or latch is damaged, replace the complete door lock assembly.
