Possible Causes
Failed broil igniter, Blocked broil burner, Faulty broil valve section, Loose broil wiring connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and gas before servicing the broil burner or igniter.
- Check broil operation: Start a broil cycle and observe whether the igniter glows. If it does not glow, test for voltage at the igniter (qualified persons only).
- Inspect igniter: Remove the broil igniter and check for cracks or damage. Test for continuity; replace if open.
- Clean burner: Remove the broil burner and clean any debris or grease blocking the ports.
- Replace parts: Install a new broil igniter if faulty. If the igniter glows but the burner does not light, the broil section of the oven safety gas valve may be defective.
