Failed broil element, Loose or burnt broil wiring, Faulty selector switch (manual models), Defective broil relay on EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before working on the broil element.
- Visual inspection: Examine the broil element at the top of the oven for cracks or burn spots.
- Continuity test: Disconnect one wire from the broil element and test for continuity. Replace if open.
- Check wiring: Inspect wires from the broil element to the control area for heat damage or loose terminals. Repair as needed.
- Control/selector test: If the element and wiring are good, the broil relay or selector switch may be faulty. Replace the electronic oven control (EOC) or selector switch depending on your Avanti model.
