Possible Causes
Failed display module, Loose display connector, Faulty low-voltage regulator on control board, Moisture ingress behind control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains before removing the control panel. Avoid using water-based cleaners near open electronics.
- Check for moisture: If the error appeared after heavy steam cooking or cleaning, allow the oven to dry with the door open for several hours. Do not use the oven until the panel is dry.
- Access display: Remove the front control panel to expose the display module and its connectors. Inspect for corrosion or moisture marks.
- Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the display ribbon cable and any backlight connectors. Use contact cleaner if oxidation is present.
- Visual inspection: Look for burnt components on the small display PCB or on the main control board's low-voltage section.
- Replace display: If the display remains dim or dead while the oven otherwise functions, replace the display module with the correct Balay part.
- Board replacement: If a new display does not resolve E016, the control board's low-voltage supply is likely defective and the board should be replaced.
