Possible Causes
Stuck child lock function in software, Faulty lock button or touch key, Control board memory error, Damaged user interface PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal high-voltage work is usually required for this fault, but always disconnect power if removing panels.
- Try lock reset: On many Balay ovens, press and hold the key/lock symbol or a specific button combination (see user manual) for several seconds to toggle the child lock.
- Power cycle: Turn off the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power and check if E030 clears.
- Button test: If the lock button is mechanical, check that it is not physically stuck. Clean around the button to remove grease or debris.
- Touch panel check: If the lock key area on the touch panel does not respond, the keypad PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
- Control board: Persistent E030 with a good keypad suggests a control board memory or logic fault; replace the board.
