Oven shows E050, gas burner will not ignite (for Balay gas ovens with electronic control)

Safety: Turn off gas supply and disconnect power before working on gas components. Gas work should comply with local regulations; in many regions, only licensed technicians may service gas appliances.

• Check gas supply: Ensure the gas valve is open and other gas appliances work. If not, contact your gas supplier.
• Clean burner: Remove the oven burner and clean ports with a soft brush. Ensure no food debris blocks the gas flow.
• Inspect electrode: Check the ignition electrode for cracks or heavy deposits. Clean gently and ensure the gap to the burner is correct as per Balay specs.
• Flame sensor: Some models use the same electrode for flame sensing; others have a separate sensor. Clean and inspect the sensor, and check wiring back to the control board.
• Test ignition: Restore gas and power, then test ignition. If there is no spark, the ignition module or control board may be faulty and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
