Possible Causes
Blown thermal cut-out, Failed main heating elements, Faulty oven selector switch, Defective control relay on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the Balay oven from mains. Heating circuits carry high current; use appropriate tools and meters.
- Check basic functions: Confirm that the oven light and fan operate. If they do, supply power is present but heating is not.
- Inspect thermal cut-out: Access the top or rear of the oven and locate the cavity thermal cut-out. Test for continuity; replace if open and non-resettable.
- Test elements: Measure resistance of the top, bottom, and circular heating elements. Replace any that are open-circuit.
- Selector switch: On models with mechanical selectors, test the function selector switch contacts for continuity in each position. Replace if contacts are burnt or intermittent.
- Control relays: If all elements and cut-outs are good, but no voltage is supplied in any heating mode, the control board relays may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
