Possible Causes
Open grill heating element, Loose or burnt wiring to grill element, Faulty relay for grill circuit on control board, Overheated terminal block at grill connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before accessing any internal wiring or elements.
- Visual inspection of grill element: Look inside the oven at the top grill element. Check for visible breaks, blisters, or burn marks.
- Access terminals: Remove the oven from the cabinet and take off the rear panel to access the grill element terminals. Inspect for burnt connectors or discolored insulation.
- Continuity test: Disconnect the wires from the grill element and measure resistance across the element. A typical reading is between 15–40 Ω depending on power rating. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element.
- Check wiring: If the element tests good, inspect the wiring harness from the element to the control board for damage or loose spade terminals. Repair or replace any burnt connectors.
- Control board relay: If wiring and element are good, the grill relay on the control board may be defective. Replace the main control board if the relay is not switching or is visibly damaged.
