Possible Causes
Faulty door switch or contact, Misaligned door causing poor switch engagement, Broken switch actuator on door or frame, Wiring fault between switch and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing any panels or working near live parts.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and evenly. Look for bent hinges or warped door that might prevent the switch from engaging.
- Locate door switch: On many Bauknecht ovens, the door switch is located behind the front panel or in the door frame area. Remove the control panel or front trim to access it.
- Actuation test: Manually press the switch plunger and listen for a distinct click. If it feels mushy or sticks, replace the switch.
- Continuity test: Disconnect the switch and test with a multimeter. It should change from open to closed (or vice versa) when pressed. Replace if readings are inconsistent.
- Adjust alignment: If the switch is good, adjust its mounting position so that the door fully depresses it when closed.
- Wiring check: Inspect the wiring from the switch to the control board for breaks or loose connectors.
