Possible Causes
Shorted temperature sensor giving low reading, Stuck heater relay on control board, Faulty thermostat (on older mechanical models), Sensor not properly fixed to cavity
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power immediately if overheating occurs.
- Check sensor mounting: Ensure the NTC sensor is firmly attached to the cavity and not hanging loose, which can cause incorrect readings.
- Measure sensor resistance: With the oven cold, measure the sensor resistance and compare to specification. Replace if out of range.
- Inspect control board relays: Look for welded heater relays that remain closed even when the oven is off. Replace the control board if a relay is stuck.
- Mechanical thermostat (if fitted): On knob‑controlled models, test the thermostat contacts for opening at the correct temperature. Replace the thermostat if it does not open.
