Possible Causes
Heating element shorted to earth, Damaged wiring insulation touching chassis, Moisture in elements after cleaning, Faulty mains filter (EMI suppressor) shorting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Disconnect the oven and work only when power is off.
- Isolate elements: Disconnect each heating element (grill, bottom, fan) in turn and test insulation resistance between each terminal and earth using a megohmmeter if available. Replace any element with low insulation resistance.
- Inspect wiring: Look for burnt or pinched wires touching the metal chassis, especially near the elements and terminal block. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Check mains filter: Inspect the mains interference filter (usually near the terminal block) for signs of burning or cracking. Disconnect and test; replace if shorted.
- Drying: If the oven was recently steam‑cleaned, allow it to dry for 24 hours and retest; moisture in elements can cause temporary leakage.
