Possible Causes

Failed oven fan motor, Failed cavity cooling fan motor, Seized fan bearings, Open-circuit fan wiring or connector, Faulty fan relay on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before removing any panels. Fan blades can be sharp.

Check fan operation:

  • With power disconnected, remove the rear panel inside the oven cavity to access the convection (fan) motor and blade.
  • Try to spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If stiff or seized, the motor is likely faulty.
  • Inspect wiring to the fan motor for burns or loose connectors.
  • For the cooling fan (usually on top of the oven cavity), remove the top cover and visually inspect the fan and wiring.
  • Reconnect power briefly and start a fan-assisted function while observing (from a safe distance) whether the fan attempts to start. Immediately disconnect power after testing.
  • If the fan hums but does not turn, the motor is likely defective. Replace the affected fan motor assembly.
  • If both motors test good, the fan relay or control board may be faulty and require replacement.

Warning: Never put your hands near a powered fan. Always disconnect power before touching or removing fan assemblies.
