Possible Causes

Failed lower heating element, Loose or burnt element connectors, Broken wiring between element and PCB, Faulty bake element relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before removing panels or touching wiring.

Check the lower element:

  • Remove the oven base panel inside the cavity (if removable) to expose the lower element, or access from the rear depending on model.
  • Inspect the element for bulges, cracks, or burn marks.
  • Disconnect the element terminals and measure resistance with a multimeter. A typical reading is 20–40 Ω; OL indicates a failed element.
  • Inspect wiring and connectors for heat damage or looseness; repair or replace as needed.
  • Fit a new lower element if faulty, ensuring it is correctly seated and secured.
  • If the element and wiring are intact, the main PCB relay may not be switching power to the element and may require replacement.

Warning: Ensure all internal panels are refitted before operating the oven to avoid exposure to live parts and radiant heat.
