Possible Causes

Faulty oven door switch, Misaligned door latch, Broken door lock mechanism (on pyrolytic models), Wiring fault between switch and PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power before working around the door or lock mechanism.

Door switch checks:

  • Open the oven door and locate the door switch plunger (usually near the top or side of the cavity frame).
  • Press the switch by hand; you should hear a distinct click. If it feels loose or does not click, it may be faulty.
  • Remove the front panel trim as needed to access the switch from behind.
  • Disconnect the switch and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing and releasing the plunger. Replace if readings are inconsistent.
  • Inspect the door latch for damage or misalignment that may prevent the switch from being fully depressed when the door is closed.
  • On pyrolytic models with a motorized door lock, listen for the lock motor when starting a pyro cycle. If silent, the lock assembly or its motor may be defective.

Warning: Never bypass the door switch or lock; this is a critical safety interlock.
