Oven knobs are very stiff or difficult to turn; selecting functions or temperatures is hard.

Safety first: Turn off power before removing knobs or control panel parts.

Steps:

• Pull the control knobs straight off the shafts.
• Clean the knob bores and the exposed shafts with a mild cleaner; remove any grease or debris.
• Inspect the selector switch and thermostat shafts for signs of melting or distortion; replace the affected component if damaged.
• Ensure the control panel is not warped and pressing against the knobs.
• Do not use oil-based lubricants on electrical shafts; if lubrication is necessary, use a small amount of high-temperature, electrical-safe grease sparingly.

Warning: Excess lubricant can migrate into electrical contacts and cause failures.
