Possible Causes
Faulty mechanical thermostat (on knob-controlled models), Shorted NTC temperature sensor, Stuck relay on main PCB, Safety thermostat bypassed or shorted
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the oven and isolate from mains immediately to prevent fire risk.
Checks:
- On models with a mechanical thermostat knob, test the thermostat for continuity; it should open when the set temperature is reached. Replace if it remains closed.
- On electronic models, test the NTC sensor resistance; a shorted sensor will cause the oven to overheat. Replace if readings are too low.
- Inspect the main PCB for a relay that may be welded closed; if suspected, replace the PCB.
- Verify that the safety thermostat has not been bypassed by previous repairs; restore correct wiring and replace the thermostat if necessary.
Warning: Overheating can damage cabinets and wiring; do not continue using the oven until the fault is corrected.
