Possible Causes
Open circuit temperature sensor, Shorted sensor wiring, Loose connector at sensor or PCB, Corroded sensor plug
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate the oven from mains power before accessing internal components.
- Locate the sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the small metal probe (usually at the rear or side). From the back of the appliance, trace its wiring to the connector on the main PCB.
- Test the sensor: Disconnect the sensor plug and measure resistance across the sensor terminals at room temperature. Compare with Belling's specified value. An open circuit (infinite resistance) or a dead short (near 0 Ω) indicates a failed sensor.
- Inspect wiring: Check the cable from the sensor to the PCB for cuts, chafing, or heat damage where it passes near the oven cavity. Repair or replace damaged wiring with heat-resistant cable.
- Clean and reseat connectors: Light corrosion or looseness at the plug can cause intermittent readings. Clean contacts gently and reconnect firmly.
- Re-test: Restore power and test the oven. If F05 persists with a known-good sensor and wiring, the fault may lie on the control PCB, which may require professional replacement.
