How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure good ventilation by opening windows and running an exhaust fan. Keep children and pets away from the area during burn-in.

  • Remove all packaging: Confirm that all plastic films, cardboard, and zip ties have been removed from inside and outside the oven.
  • Clean interior surfaces: Wipe the cavity, racks, and door glass with warm soapy water, then dry thoroughly.
  • Perform burn-in cycles: Run the empty oven at 200–220°C (400–430°F) for 30–60 minutes, then allow to cool. Repeat once or twice as recommended in the Bertazzoni manual.
  • Monitor for persistence: If strong chemical odor persists after several uses, inspect for overlooked packaging or consult service to check for overheating components.
