Possible Causes
Tripped non-resettable thermal cut-out, overheated due to blocked ventilation, failed safety thermostat, loose connection at TCO terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and let the oven cool fully. Internal surfaces and components may remain hot for a long time.
- Check ventilation: Confirm that the oven has proper clearance and that vents are not blocked by cabinetry or items stored around the oven.
- Locate TCO: Remove the rear panel or top cover to find the thermal cut-out(s) mounted on the oven cavity or top frame.
- Test continuity: With power off, disconnect one wire from the TCO and test for continuity. An open reading indicates it has tripped or failed.
- Reset or replace: Some TCOs have a small reset button; press it firmly if present. If there is no reset or it remains open, replace the thermal cut-out / safety thermostat.
- Investigate cause: If the TCO tripped, look for blocked vents, failed cooling fan, or excessive grease buildup that may have caused overheating.
