Possible Causes

Seized convection fan motor, worn motor bearings, obstructed fan blades, open fan motor winding, failed fan relay on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power. Fan blades and metal edges can be sharp; wear gloves.

  • Access fan: Remove the rear interior panel inside the oven to expose the convection fan and motor shaft.
  • Check for obstruction: Try turning the fan by hand. Remove any food debris or grease buildup that may be jamming the blades.
  • Listen for noise: If the fan is stiff or grinds, the motor bearings are likely worn and the motor should be replaced.
  • Test motor windings: From the rear of the oven, access the fan motor terminals. Disconnect one wire and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
  • Inspect wiring and relay: If the motor tests good, check wiring to the control board and the fan relay. A non-switching relay requires PCB replacement.
  • Replace motor: Install a new convection fan motor if the original is seized or open.
