Grease / Food Residue Burning or Electrical Overheating
Oven emits a strong burning smell or smoke during normal cooking (not first use or self-clean).

Possible Causes
Heavy grease buildup on elements or cavity surfaces, food spillage on bottom panel, failing element insulation, overheated wiring or connectors
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If you see flames or heavy smoke, switch off the oven immediately and disconnect power. Do not open the door fully if there is active flame; keep it closed to starve the fire of oxygen.
- Inspect cavity: Once cool, remove shelves and check for heavy grease or burnt-on food, especially on the bottom and around elements.
- Clean thoroughly: Use a suitable oven cleaner (following manufacturer instructions) to remove grease from the cavity and elements. Avoid spraying directly on sensors.
- Check wiring: Remove rear panel and inspect element terminals and wiring for signs of overheating or burning. Replace any charred connectors or wires.
- Test elements: If smell persists and appears electrical, test elements for insulation breakdown (visible cracks, arcing). Replace the affected heating element.
