Possible Causes
Invalid keypad input sequence, Control software glitch, Incorrect configuration or calibration data in EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If you smell gas or see smoke, shut off gas and power immediately and evacuate before troubleshooting.
Steps to try:
- Clear error: Press Cancel/Clear and attempt to reprogram the oven. Ensure you are following the correct sequence for your BlueStar model.
- Power cycle: Turn off power at the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore. This can clear temporary software faults.
- Check for stuck keys: Verify that no buttons are physically stuck or depressed. Clean the keypad surface.
- Factory reset (if available): Some EOCs allow a configuration reset via a key combination (refer to the service manual). Perform only if documented for your model.
When to stop: If ERR returns immediately after power-up and cannot be cleared, the EOC may need replacement by a technician.
