Possible Causes

Shorted oven temperature sensor probe, Sensor wiring shorted to chassis, Moisture or contamination in sensor connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing any panels.

Steps to try:

  • Access sensor: Remove the oven racks and locate the sensor probe on the rear wall. Remove mounting screws and gently pull the probe forward.
  • Test resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. A shorted sensor will show very low resistance (near 0 Ω). Replace if out of normal range (~1080–1100 Ω at room temperature).
  • Inspect for shorts: Check the sensor wires where they pass through the rear wall grommet and along the back of the oven. Look for melted insulation or wires touching metal.
  • Dry connectors: If there are signs of moisture (from steam cleaning or spills), dry the connector thoroughly and allow the oven to air out before retesting.

When to stop: If the sensor and wiring are good but F4 persists, the EOC sensor input may be shorted internally and should be replaced by a professional.
