Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.

Steps to try:

Clean surface: Wipe the control panel surface with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry thoroughly. Do not flood the panel with liquid.
Inspect keypad ribbon: Remove the control panel trim to access the keypad ribbon cable. Check for kinks, cracks, or corrosion at the connector.
Reseat connector: Gently unplug and reinsert the ribbon cable into the EOC, ensuring it is fully seated and straight.
Test operation: Restore power and test each button. If F7 returns or random beeping continues, the keypad membrane is likely defective.
Replace keypad/control panel: Install a new BlueStar-compatible control panel or keypad assembly as required by your model.

When to stop: If the keypad and ribbon appear fine but F7 persists, the EOC may be misreading inputs and should be evaluated by a technician.

Display shows F7, buttons may not respond correctly or may appear to be pressed by themselves.
