Possible Causes

Failed oven cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air vents, Faulty fan relay on EOC

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool completely before servicing. Some components may remain hot for a long time.

Steps to try:

  • Check vents: Ensure that the front and rear cooling vents are not blocked by cabinetry, foil, or other obstructions.
  • Listen for fan: During operation (before disconnecting power), note whether you can hear the internal cooling fan running when the oven is hot.
  • Access fan: Remove the rear panel to access the cooling fan assembly. Check for obstructions, seized bearings, or burnt wiring.
  • Test fan motor: With power disconnected, measure resistance across the fan motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. If comfortable and safe, you can also bench-test the fan with a proper power source.
  • Replace faulty parts: Replace the cooling fan motor if defective. If the fan tests good but never receives power, the fan relay on the EOC may be faulty and the EOC will need replacement.

When to stop: If you are not comfortable working near high-voltage components, contact a professional.
